The FDC does not support or condone the actions of any Democrat that uses the good name of the Democratic Party to exploit or abuse workers. “It is appropriate that it is on May Day that we are coming together to raise our voices to ensure justice for these women and all workers,” said Victor Quiroz, President of the FDC. “This is the day that people all over the world recognize the people’s right and imperative to fight for fair wages for their work and to be free from exploitation and mistreatment at the hands of any corrupt employer or contractor.” “Our history with Mr. Young has led us as a club to keep a healthy distance from him and his activities. As Democrats, we must remain diligent and cautious with anyone who carries the Democratic banner and claims to represent the people,” he further added. “And, as local Democrats, we will unite to ensure justice for these women in any way that we can.” UPDATE: May 2, 2012 In the meantime, the Fontana Democratic Club is helping to raise a little money to offset some of their time and loss of wages while this is being resolved. If you would like to help these ladies out, checks are being accepted and the funds will be dispersed evenly amongst the women. They can be mailed to: Women for Justice c/o Fontana Democratic Club, P.O. Box 944, Fontana, CA 92334 FPPC# 861370.
